Lets Get To Work

Friday was a busy day.  After Josh got Jordy and Nadav out to school I jumped into Shabbat cooking and ran to the bakery.  Then I ran several errands for Lisa and went over to my parents house to help Lisa, Nafi and my Dad set up for Meytal's simchat bat kiddush that would be taking place Shabbat morning.  I then ran out and got Nadav from gan and Jordy who got rained out at baseball practice.  Nadav and I gathered some supplies and headed back to my Dad's while Jordy went to play with Yakir and Josh stayed home to get ready for Shabbat.  All this time Danya was in bed either watching TV or sleeping as her throat was still hurting.  Nadav and I came home close to Shabbat and put the finishing touches on Shabbat.  My Dad arrived a few minutes before Shabbat and stayed for a nice, quiet dinner.
Shabbat morning I woke up a few times to pouring rain and was dreading getting everyone to my parents house in the rain.  Luckily by 9am it had stopped raining and only started again 5 minutes after we arrived.  It did stop raining again when the guests were to arrive, so don't worry.  The kiddush was really nice.   We all ate and drank a little too much.  Then we cleaned up and had lunch of kiddush leftovers, Balsam dinner leftovers and a very yummy chulent(if I don't say so myself).  We headed home at 3 and we saw Yakir while we were walking so Jordy went with him to his house.  The rest of us headed home and I took a nap.  When I woke up Nadav was sleeping which I thought wasn't a good idea.  He ended up sleeping until after Shabbat was over and then was awake until midnight.  Nadav and I went back to help with Kiddush clean up but Nadav got bored so Nafi brought him home.
Sunday morning Danya was all better so she joined Jordy and Nadav in heading out to school.  I had to go in to work for the first time in 3 weeks.  I had a busy day but it was good to be back.  While I was at work Jordy and Danya joined Meira and Moshe at my Dad's house for lunch and ice cream all afternoon.  I arrived home and everyone was arguing and misbehaving.  So nice.  Eventually everyone calmed down and went to bed.
This morning Josh went to warm a cup of milk for Nadav in the microwave(it is too cold when the milk is cold on a freezing cold morning) and the microwave began smoking.  So I guess add a new microwave to the to do list.  Today Josh got everyone out to school early!  They are usually about 5 minutes late so on time is nice and early is wonderful!  Josh, Lisa and my Dad headed out for a leisurely breakfast while I headed to work.  It was raining outside and I couldn't find an umbrella(I had bought myself a new one about a month ago but lent it to one of my children who then lost it).  Of course it was pouring the whole drive in.  I then walked my 20 minutes in a light rain.  Work was super busy and then Seth said he was leaving on the early side so I headed out at 4:30.  I had no idea it was raining when I left but the rain picked up and I was soaking by the time I got to Seth's office.  Brrrr.   I got home just in time to head to the Balsam house where we were having dinner along with my father before he headed out tonight.  We had a nice time and the kids behaved.  We had a nice visit with Saba and are sad to see him heading out but we know he'll be back again soon!  We came home and after homework everyone played, showered and got to bed.

The Glamorous Life

Well now that Danya caught us up with her excellent post I figured I would roll with the momentum.

Danya didn't mention that my boss was out of town for a few weeks and then returned sick so I have been working from home for about 3 weeks now which is so nice.  I like my job but I love not having the travel time and being home more.  On Wednesday everyone headed to school.  At 9am I took a break and headed to Jordy's school to serve the Rosh Chodesh meal.  The parents of the kids whose birthdays are that month are in charge of the meal.  Someone decided that it would be a nice idea to serve these 8-9 year old boys soup at 9:15am.  I was very skeptical and felt ridiculous dragging a pot of vegetable soup to the school at 9am however I was shocked that the boys loved it.  Even Jordy, who never eats soup at home, ate 2 bowls(there was also an orange soup).  I spent the rest of the day working.  Danya returned home at 3 and had her 2nd violin lesson.  She forgot to mention on her blog post that she started taking violin lessons and she is quite good.  After the first lesson she was playing twinkle twinkle little star perfectly.  At 4 Saba came over and joined me in going to get Nadav from gan.  On the way home Nadav told us a story about his lunch and how all the kids "lost" their fruits and he didn't eat his tutim(Strawberries).  I couldn't understand the story but was a little curious what happened to the fruit at gan.  I have a feeling it is somehow related to Rosh Chodesh but still a little lost.  Saba hung out for an hour and then headed to the Balsam's for dinner.  Jordy returned home from Moshe S.'s house and everyone ate dinner and eventually headed to bed. I got an email from my boss that tomorrow I should return to the office.
This morning I got a phone call from Nadav's afternoon gan that it will not be taking place today as her son needed emergency surgery.  I had a feeling Josh wouldn't be thrilled about that but what can I do?  Then Josh came up saying that Danya's throat hurts her and she is sick and staying home.  That is 2 strikes.  So I felt bad about doing it, but I stayed home from work.  Danya slept a large part of the morning.  Then I took her to the doctors where they confirmed what we already knew-STREP.  We got her some drugs and some ice cream and headed home.  At 2 I went to pick up Nadav and he happily watched TV in my room while I worked for a large part of the afternoon.  Jordy came home and spent the afternoon studying for a test and playing Wii.  After some dinner, laundry and Shabbat cooking I headed to zumba as I missed it last night.  I also stopped in at a La'Chaim for a friend who passed her tour guide exam.  I returned home to dole out more medicine, cook more and fold some laundry.  Ahh, the glamorous life.

Yay! An Update!

OK listen up!
My Mom hasn't been updating the blog for a very good reason:
She's working full time in Rannana!
I know its bothering you guys,it bothers me to!
Anyway, I decided that if anybody is going to type on this thing it will be me.
Who is me you ask? Well its the one the only (drum roll...) DANYA SALTZMAN!!! YAY!!
Wait... Where are you going?  Just because I'm a kid does NOT mean I can't type or some thing- like the computer is kids best friend right??
Whatever, anyway, where did we leave off? oh yeah! Meytal was born, this was on erev Chanukah I believe.
Just so you know I won't remember all details and stuff like that. What do you want from me?! I'm a kid!
So, night 1, Tuesday night, Saba (a.k.a my moms dad) took us out for dinner.
Day 1, Wednesday-  In the morning I went with Saba and Michali to run some errands, and in the afternoon I went with the Balsams to the hospital to meet Meytal. Shes a cutie! Than I went out for a sleepover.
Day 2, Thursday- In the morning I got a call from my mom and she told me that Nafi Balsam is going to take me ,Jordy. and his kids to the movie "puss in boots". It was a pretty interesting movie.  Then he took us all to McDonalds at the mall for lunch.  That's all I remember from that day.
Day 3, Friday-I went to a baseball game for Jordy. They played 2 games, they won 1 and lost 1.  We did a lot of cleaning , cooking ect.
Day 3, Shabbat-Saturday we had lunch with the Balsams, Meira and I went to Bnei-Akiva, and later that night we had my VERY late...11TH BIRTHDAY PARTY!!!! I had a great time being with my friends and playing games with them and stuff (thanks for helping out Meira!!)  That night Meira slept over.
Day 4, Sunday-It was cold and rainy, when Meira and I got up we heard the rain on the windows. We got dressed, Saba came to say good bye to us and that we will see him in 5 weeks (yes, those 5 weeks are up).  When we where all ready we dropped Meira off at home and headed to go see"the Muppet movie", It was very funny and I totally recommend that you go see it.
Day 5, Monday- Savta arrived in Israel and got to are house at around 8:30ish, I had a softball game at 10:00AM, but when I got there we found out that only 3 girls from the other team where able to come so we just had practice. I got 3 metals, 1 bronze for running fast,1 gold for hitting farthest, and 1 more gold for catching 5 out of 5 pop-flies. That night we ordered out from Matadors, thanks Savta!
Day 6, Tuesday-  I went to Savtas with Nadav and Meira so we can baby-sit him with Savta. We had a very good time with Nadav and he was very entertained.  I slept over at Daniella's house.
Day 7, Wednesday- We did not have school so we went to Ikea.  We bought a few things, ate lunch and went home.
On Thursday we where back in school not so fun but whatever
Friday night Savta, the Gersons came for dinner including Jodi(Buckman) and Adam Weinstein and Seth's mother.
Now I think we should just say the basics.
On Wednesday January 4th we had dinner and a birthday party for Savta at the Balsam's as she was leaving early the next morning on her birthday.
Thursday was 10 b'tevet- the fasting starts.  You all maybe now I'm going to be a bat-mitzvah girl in less than a year so I had to try fasting the whole thing and I did, its really not so hard. Also on that day our class did a little play for the school about the fast day.  I think we did very good.
I think every thing went back to normal by then.
Last week I went on a 1 night trip with school. We went down South to a few places
1)We climbed down a cliff
2)We went to Massada
We slept in a youth hostel and I had a great time
Yesterday it was Jordys birthday. Hes 9!! old!!We went to pizza for dinner and had ice cream cake for the birthday.
Today (finally!!!) my Saba arrived in Israel at 6:30AM and I saw him at 3 o'clock I got a new mitt for softball (thanks Saba and Savta!) we had dinner together with the Balsams and that's it.
Your'e very welcome that I updated, see? A kid can type after all!!! :)
