We hid 7 different paper flowers around the house and wrote clues for Arica to find each one. They each also had a letter on the back that when organised correctly, spelled a location in the house where she can find her present (creative, eh?)
She figured everything out and found the present. You want to know what it was?
wait for it.....

FLOWERS!!!
Now, now...I know what you're thinking....they aren't real...what a cheapskate..and what is that freakish thing on the right side? So a little history here:
The paper flowers on the right were printed out probably around 18 years ago. Yes...18 YEARS!!!
They've been sitting in a vase in our dining room in Chicago and in Israel that whole time. Unfortunately, about a year and a half ago, one of our dear children (
) decided to get the paper all wet and out flowers were ruined. So, I decided it was time to replace them and printed out the new flowers you see on the left and gave them to Arica for her birthday. (ignore the actual fake flowers behind it...those aren't really connected with this story). Yes, I'm still a cheapskate, but this gift can potentially last forever and that's really what a gift should do (right?). Arica at least pretended that she liked it, so I'll call it a success.
