It's Raining It's Pouring

Tuesday morning I was able to take the broken umbrella to work hoping a broken umbrella is better than no umbrella at all.  I spent a very busy day at work.  When I went to leave the office I looked outside and it wasn't raining.  By the time I got downstairs and out the door it was POURING.  Out came my broken umbrella and began my 25 minute trek to Seth's office.  After about 5 minutes the POURING turned to torrential downpour. The rain was coming at an angle so the broken umbrella wasn't much use.  Then I turned onto a main street and each car that came by sprayed me with the water of the puddle that it drove through.  I was sopping.  Of course a block from Seth's office it stopped raining but the damage had been done.  When I got home my kids thought it was funny that I was soaked especially since it hadn't rained here at all.  I was soaked through my 2 shirts, sweatshirt and jacket.  Brrrr.  After I got dried off I made some nice hot soup.  Once the kids were in bed I headed to Rami Levy(where I purchased 3 new umbrellas).
Tuesday night/Wednesday morning there was a major rain storm.  It rained the entire day really but all morning from 1am onward.  At some point Nadav arrived in our room and my bed.  I kept waking up wondering why the heat, which was set to go on at 5am, wasn't on yet and I kept thinking it must be so early and I still have so much more time to sleep(what a nice though).  Then I heard Josh get up and saw him go downstairs.  I saw that the light was on for the dud shemesh(the water heater) but the heat in our room wasn't on.  Weird.  I went to look at the alarm panel to see what time it was and the power was out in the alarm panel.  I thought this was weird as the electricity was on for the water heater.  I went downstairs and saw Jordy's clock was on but nothing else was really working.  None of the switches in the power box were down so in theory the storm could have knocked out the power in the neighborhood however we still had some power so that didn't really make much sense.  Josh and I were stumped.  We got everyone up and out and I headed to Laura's house to look at my email and mooch a cup of coffee from her since my kitchen power was out.  After I returned Josh came back from shul and we were still trying to figure out the problem and who to call.  Josh noticed that the power to the main floor heat was on so I pressed the button to turn it on, as I was freezing, and all the power in the house went on.  Weird.  I turned it off and all the power went back out.  Josh called a new electrician who said he could be here in a couple hours.  I finally left for work nice and late and hit a ton of traffic.  I stayed late since I got in so late.  I got home around 7pm.  The power was up and running.  Apparently we blew 2 of our 3 phases of electricity.  The electrician was able to put a temporary fix and will return in a few days to complete the job.
Thursday was nice and dry(I am happy for the rain and the Kinneret which is slowly filling up but it is nice not to be wet).  I had a super busy day at work and when I got home at 6:30ish Jordy had just returned from a birthday party and Danya was out at a birthday party followed by a Bnei Akiva activity.  Nadav had already ate dinner but Jordy and I sat together and watched Top Chef while we ate(always fun to watch all the fancy gourmet food while you are eating a bowl of pasta).  When it came time for the elimination Jordy commented that the contestants "hearts were probably melting" because they were scared.  He said his heart melts when he is scared.  So sweet, made my heart melt a little.  Danya finally returned home and made herself dinner and headed to bed.
